REMINDER: All work for the first packet is due no later than Friday, April 24. Students are being graded on effort, completeness and proficiency. Grading procedures are being mailed out this week and are available on the school website (MENU-DOCUMENTS-DISTANCE LEARNING).

Happy Friday. Thank you to all who came and picked up your child’s work, dropped off homework and picked up Chromebooks. Over 200 families were represented. A few messages … (1) Next week you will be receiving the grading criteria for distance learning. It is important that students finish their work to the best of their ability as it will be graded. 8th grade graduation requirements have been revised to help your child receive a diploma and participate in graduation. (2) The district is in the process of obtaining Hot Spots for internet connectivity. If all goes well we might have them in early May. (3) Please complete the Family Project in your packet. These will be part of your child’s grade. A sample will be posted on the website. (4) Our first online family activity/challenge will be posted next week. Check the website regularly for information. (5) There are lots of teacher lesson videos posted on the Sunnyside School You Tube. Check them out! (6) Someone on our staff will be contacting you weekly to find out if you need any assistance with student work. They will be reaching out by phone or email. Reminder: Drop off completed school work for grading on Tuesday, April 14, between the hours of 7AM and 5PM. Containers will be located in parking lot for drop off. Also pick up your work for the next 14 days! It will be available in packet or electronic form. Chromebooks may be borrowed with signed individual contracts and a family permission slip for electronic classroom programs. These were mailed this past week. Extra ones will be available if lost or not received. LOTS of virtual family and student activities will be coming soon. Continue to check all social media regularly. SUNNYSIDE COMMUNITY - HOMEWORK UPDATE: Please plan to return homework on Tuesday, April 14. Please return materials in the bag it was sent and the student materials are clearly have the name on them. Homework will be collected in the school parking lot between the hours of 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Work needs to be completed for credit. You will be able to pick up new assignments, pick up a Chromebook and turn in technology loaner documents (will be mailed out prior) during this time. More information and reminders will follow.
