Sunnyside is excited to announce the debut of its first Community Schools partnership—marking the beginning of many collaborative efforts to strengthen connections among students, families, and the broader community.
Community Schools’ mission is to bring meaningful partnerships to Sunnyside that support the growth of a healthy, thriving community. These partnerships aim to create opportunities that nurture not only academic success but also social, emotional, and creative well-being for everyone involved.
For their first event, Community Schools partnered with Imagine Art Center, which provided a hands-on ceramic mug painting activity for families. Alongside the art experience, families engaged in social-emotional learning activities that encouraged reflection, connection, and creativity.
The event was a great success—families enjoyed spending time together, sharing stories, and expressing themselves through art. Many expressed excitement for future events and collaborations that continue to build unity and joy at Sunnyside.
